Travels

I traveled to California for a few days in June. Here are some pictures:

Auditions were off to a slow start, but went well in the end

The auditions were chaotic for the majority of the morning yesterday.

Since the crew for this film belongs to a school, it was decided that they would take advantage of that by getting a classroom in the Manhattan NYIT building to hold the auditions. I felt that the auditions should have been held in a hotel room, and I said that 10 times every hour.

The problem with the classroom was that it had to be changed several times, sometimes forcing us to go to other buildings.  The reason it had to be changed? Well, students were walking into the classroom ready to attend their scheduled class! Class in a classroom, who would have thought?

But in the end we found some great talent for the new film. It will be a tough process to choose amongst certain roles, but there are a lot of people from that audition that I really want to see again. We had fun with everyone involved and I look forward to having that fun return on set!

Columbus Day Parade 2009

Here are some picture from the Columbus Day Parade 2009. I was surprised to see so many participants, it seemed like everyone had a float! These were some of my favorites.

Casting

I’m currently casting for a film I’m making and I’ve gotten so many responses to my ads. It’s taking a long time to reply to all them, but there should be a lot of people at the audition.

More fun

Here we are together again having the best day ever.

The day started with a great breakfast made possible by some eggs, bacon, and a free dozen bagels from Bagelicious. Later on I enjoyed some coffee from Massapequa Perk, and food at Paninis and Bikinis in Long Beach.

Tried to see a baseball game

I’ve been wanting to see the new Yankee Stadium for awhile now. Finally, I made it to a game, only to be frustrated by the amount of rain preventing the game from starting. Everything didn’t quite work out, but it was still a fun time.

Miniature Golf

Some intense competition at Eisenhower Park. They have a couple of really nice miniature golf courses there. Afterward I enjoyed a wonderful Italian dinner at a place called Mulberry Street in Long Beach. It was my first time ever going there so I didn’t know what to expect, but the food was great and the service was friendly.

Bubble Hockey

This game is intense. Competition at the workplace is very intense. There have been many tournaments which have led to employee turmoil.

Baking Banana Bread

Sometimes you can be so confident that you are going to bake something that taste really good, and it will make you want to share it with other people. In this case, we put chocolate chips in the banana bread which made it ridiculously good.

Spending 2 dollar bills

So I have taken some time to spend some of the 2 dollar bills. It was a lot of fun!
